Coaching With Joshua - The Most Important Words You Will Ever Hear
The fresh morning air gently rolls over me as I sit in my favourite chair by the French doors.
The morning light is soft. It is six-thirty on Saturday morning.
My world is quiet at the moment.
I am aware of the energy in my garden.
How blessed I am to have time in the morning to feel peace and love. I see my garden with my eyes, and my heart sings with joy.
It is moments like this gratitude flows.
There are mornings when the energy is alive. It rolls up from the garden into my feet and through my body.
The vibration is exquisite.
I recommend everyone take time in the morning to appreciate their life.
As I am looking at my garden and feeling love, I look up to see
Joshua dancing on the table out on the deck.
He waves to me to join him.
As I sit down, he takes his earphones off and looks at me as though evaluating what to say.
"You look peaceful this morning Howard."
"I am at peace. I feel the energy of love, peace, and fulfilment moving through my body."
"That's wonderful because your sense of yourself fits perfectly with what I want to talk about this morning.
Do you know the most important words you'll ever hear."
"Why don't you tell me."
"The most important words you'll ever hear are the ones you speak to yourself.
Everyone has self-talk going on all the time.
The voice is so familiar. Most people don't hear it anymore.
However, they follow every instruction as to how to live their life from moment to moment.
Your voice is an old one. It has been with you since birth.
First, it was the voice of the people around you. Then you took it on and converted it to your voice.
How aware are you of your self-talk?"
"I think I am aware of what I hear.
This morning sitting quietly, I can tell my soul is speaking to me in a loving, accepting way.
When my ego speaks, it is usually more instructive and many times negative."
"Very good.
Your ego voice brings forward the instructions you were given growing up.
Many people I talk to have a voice that says, they are not good enough or that it is a judging voice that evaluates and makes pronouncements about their lives.
It takes awareness to realize whether the ego voice is helping or hindering your day to day life.
Paying attention to the words you hear is a big step to changing your life patterns."
"The work I have done to wake up and understand the unconscious patterns operating in my life have brought my self-talk to the forefront.
I know to change, I've had to bring unconscious behaviours into my conscious awareness to contribute to my life positively.
I have learned most of us operate during the day on auto-pilot because we are not aware of how our old unconscious patterns are running the show.
The words come with the voice of the ego, which is my parental voice.
I remember my father explaining to me how my life would work out if I followed his instructions.
I took his voice and made it my own. Evaluating how my life was going was put up against the plan.
Unfortunately, the plan did not work out the way he said it would.
However, the ego voice lingers to try and put things right.
I decided not to allow my ego voice to drive my bus any longer.
For years, my ego probably served me well, but now that is not the case. It has no access to my plans."
" Good work, Howard.
You have learned the lessons well.
The more you practice connecting to your essential voice daily, the brighter and more confident you become.
It is not a one-shot deal when you take on the challenge of changing old patterns that have passed their usefulness.
The practice you are using every day is raising your energy and connection to your essential self in a way that will serve you for the rest of your life.
I don't have to remind you to practice awareness every day.
What you say to yourself are the most important words you will ever hear."
