Coaching with Joshua - Exhausted? Here's Why.
I've lots on my mind as I put on my coat and head out to the garage to meet with Joshua.
"Hi, Joshua, what a week it’s been.
I'm having vivid dreams about letting go.
When I have these times, I feel the space created by letting go of old ideas and beliefs about myself.
I know these ways of living my life I call "beliefs" are false. I interpret them as guides for my life.
The challenge is to see what kind of a life I can live if I release these old, ineffective ways of living."
"Hey Howard, I see you are energized this morning.
Your energetic system is sending out lots of energy.
I can feel the experiences you've had this week are both exhilarating and scary.
It has been difficult for you to let go of launching a coaching program this fall. I can see that.
What you have done is listen to your heart and soul rather than your ego.
Have you been feeling like trying to launch a program is a big push?"
"Yes, I've been striving and pushing and attempting to get past the places where I'm stuck.
It feels like I have space now to breathe.
Taking the next step is now more exciting and feels more open."
"What guidance has come to you?"
"The revised plan I have is to write a book based on my coaching program. I can use that as the launching pad for the program in the new year.
I know I need to write about the program first."
"There is a lesson here, Howard?
When you overload your nervous system with pushing and striving for something, you activate two critical components.
The first is the exhaustion. The energy expended does not provide the results. Therefore you become exhausted.
Suppose you are in an ego state. You will try and go past the low energy you feel and push harder.
You can only guess what that will bring.
The second result is a shut down of your creative and intuitive nature.
Your ego is not intuitive. It needs control, direction, and a plan to get somewhere.
Therefore feelings of inadequacy arise.
If you don't take care of your nervous system regeneration, it leads to break-down.
In your case letting go of something you felt is important to you is brilliant.
Now you are open to new creative, nurturing ways to take your work forward.
Awareness, Howard, is the activation of the number one skill I know you teach.
What's to say to complete our conversation today?"
"Thanks, Joshua.
You have summarized and described my situation in a way that is clear to me.
I feel energized, excited, and open to my next step."
Namaste.
Finally, I have a question for you. If you could have a private conversation with me, what two questions would you like to ask me?
P.S.S. why not share this note with a friend. it might stimulate an interesting conversation.
