Weight Loss Is Not About Weight Loss
I've been writing about aiming for my ideal weight.
My thoughts, my choices, and my actions about weight loss have opened up a new perspective.
Weight loss is not just about losing weight.
It is about something deeper within that burns for expression.
It is about learning techniques, skills, and habits I can use in all parts of my life.
It is about the choices I make as to how I will live today.
For example, one tenet of weight loss is not to try and do it all at once.
Small steps make new habits. New habits make a new life.
Like many of you, I have goals, dreams, and visions of being of service.
Taking one small step at a time creates a profound result.
However, one small step at a time takes patience.
My ego voice constantly talks to me about what needs to be done next and make it fast, it says. It's the push to try and grasp something the ego tells me is missing.
The mistake in listening to your ego voice is that it has no access to your future vision.
It can only go into the file drawers of your past and react from there.
When you want something new, you are in uncharted territory.
That's why you take it one step at a time.
