The Difference Between Wakefulness and Awareness

We've been discussing living consciously and the advantages that it provides you in your life.

Sometimes the idea of wakefulness is confused with conscious attention as I refer to it as self-awareness.

Wakefulness is simple to describe - you are awake!

When you sleep, you are asleep. When you wake up, you are in a wakeful state. You know this state very well because you live it every day.

The question is whether you are aware of your state.

Self-awareness is one of the keys to conscious living.

It means you are paying attention to the moment and what is happening at that moment.
