The Days Before, "I Can't"

The Days Before, "I can't."

Perhaps you've had those times in your life when you said, "I can't."

"I can't live like this anymore."

 "I can't make this work."

 "I can't stand your attitude."

 "I can't keep going."

 "I can't love you anymore."

So many times, we have invoked the negative sentiment, which means there is nowhere to go.

In your mind you have closed the door to negotiation with yourself or someone else. You have completed the cycle from start to finish. It is over.

Whatever it is.

How long ago were the days when you said,

"I do."

"I can do this."

"I know I am capable and smart enough to figure this out."

"I can and I will."

It seems those times when we said, "I can" were in our younger days when possibility seemed to be more of a reality.

Then we grow up, and we invoke the inhibitions and limitations we live by without question.

Dreams imagined turned from possibility to impossibility.

Self-worth is thrown in the trash heap to absorb the pain and misery of disbelief in yourself.

Emptiness fills your day rather than fulfillment if, "I can't" is alive within you.

Maya Angelou said, "If you're always trying to be normal, you'll never know how amazing you can be!"

You have far more power over your life than you might imagine.

However,  early in life, we fit into social norms, accept the limitations of our parents and institutions from which we have learned how our world works.

Here's how you can change your life experience and transform the results you are getting if you wish to do so.

Go within: We are trained to look outside for answers rather than mining the richness of our souls. Inquire within as you question what you think you know. Use meditation to quiet your mind and open your heart to the wisdom locked within you.

Value your life: reach inside, look in the mirror, and accept the miracle you are at this moment. No matter what, your future is not dependent on your past. You have the power to change your experience starting now.

Self-Compassion: it is time to feel and accept compassion for yourself. You have withstood the test of time as you grew up and out of your family. The past does not have a hold on you unless you accept it. Loving yourself with your whole heart, practicing daily, and knowing who you are will rewrite your self-description and revive your authentic self.

How will you activate, liberate, and engage in using your potential?

Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

All my best
