The Courage To Be You
The Courage To be You
The dictionary definition of courage is "the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, without fear."
I've been thinking about courage lately as I take on a new project that sometimes seems daunting and impossible to bring to fruition.
However, there is an excitement that brews in me in attempting to make the impossible possible.
My courage is born from knowing that what I have to offer will positively help people going through a transition and bring them hope and inspiration.
For more than twenty years, my wife, Kerry, and I taught a course we had developed called, Moving On Through Divorce.
Through the tears, the laughter, and the strength of community healing, and hope showed up repeatedly.
The experience was one of the most inspiring times of my life.
Now, I am putting twenty years of face-to-face learning on the internet.
The obstacles show up big and bold such as my need for more knowledge of technology.
What has shown up is my quality of quiet persistence and determination.
Every one of us has qualities that become active when faced with a situation requiring courage.
The key is the project is important enough to you to have your qualities brought to bear on it.
When faced with situations at home or work, you may feel worn out, stressed, and fearful.
Ask yourself what is important enough for you to bring forward your courage to face the challenge.
Then ask and be aware of the qualities you bring to this challenge.
