Honouring Our Connection To The Natural World
History records the Winter Solstice celebrations of cultures worldwide, marking this critical time as our planet changes course in relation to our sun.
Winter Solstice brings us our shortest day and longest night here in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the celebration of the return of the light.
It seems odd that we celebrate turning toward more light when we are in mid-winter. The days are cold, and the nights seem long.
It is a time of ritual and self-care as we follow in the footsteps of our ancestors, who marked this time by honouring fire and light as part of the natural world.
At our home we create a grove with beautiful lights and a fire pit.
I have made photo for you to see what we have created.
I wish you many blessings as we acknowledge our ancestors connection to the natural world.
