Coaching With Joshua - You Are The Authority
Coaching with Joshua. - You Are the Authority
"Hi Howard, good to see you this morning.
You look like you glow around you.
What's going on with you?"
"Joshua, you are so observant.
I've been feeling into the authority in my life.
In my younger years, I learned somehow I am not the authority in my life.
The authorities I followed came from my family of origin, the companies I worked for, and my relationships.
As I look back on it, the way I stayed safe was to please others without regard to my well-being.
Alcohol was one of the authorities in my daily life for many years.
The company I was an executive in was the authority through which I would sacrifice my energy and health.
Now, at what you might consider my mature age, I think about my life if I accept myself as the authority in my life.
You know what, Joshua, I am the authority in my life."
"Yea, Howard!
You got it!
I've been working with you for months wanting you to see the authority you are in your own life.
I am a mentor to you, but I am not the authority in your life.
No one is the authority in your life unless you give them that power.
The opportunity for everyone is to examine how they have given their power and authority to others.
I know your history in this regard, Howard.
I am hearing that you have taken up the mantle and the responsibility that goes with accepting who you are.
Like everyone, you are not a child of the whims and demands others may try to place on you.
Howard, it's time for you to go out and teach what you know."
"Yes, thanks, for the encouragement.
Iām going to be more forthcoming with my work and who I am.
The old paradigms have been in place for a long time.
My ego voice speaks to me like what I am doing is dangerous.
That voice speaks from the past as though circumstances are current.
I know at this moment that is not true.
I have taken to heart our chats over these past months and realized how hidden I had kept myself.
I want to introduce myself to people like the teacher I am with openness and connection.
I'm putting myself out there on a FaceBook live.
Do you know what that is?"
"Yes, even though I've been around a long time, technology has crept into my world."
Joshua, I love our conversations and hold you dear to my heart."
Thank you so much."
"You are welcome, Howard.
I look forward to seeing you on FaceBook.
See you soon."
