Live Like No One Is Watching

The only certainty is uncertainty.

To live an authentic life, we need to embrace uncertainty and live our lives in the present moment in spite of the discomfort of circumstances.

Susan David, a Harvard psychologist, says, “Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life.”

We have been conditioned to push our emotions to the side in favour of acting as we “should.”

Look into your past life and ask yourself, “What feelings were okay and not okay in my family.”

You will see how conditioning took place, as you, the young person in the family, took in the energy and substance of the family drama and then adapted your behaviour.

As you move into the workforce, more conditioning takes place when you learn the unwritten rules of how to behave.

This conditioning sets up a gut full of emotions and feelings unexpressed.

The emotions get stronger and chew at you as you pay the price of conformity.

To live like no one is watching is to be you. Your authenticity shines through as you act from that part of you I call the Essential Self. When you encounter the presence of a baby, perhaps you would give it the name of Soul - the purity of the child shining through as you look into their eyes.

This powerfully creative, connected aspect of you has always been there.

For you to feel safe and accepted in the world, you have taken your light and truth and day by day put it in a closet.

You will need the courage to act, think, love, and speak your truth.

You will need persistence and creativity to find it in others.

When you live like no one is watching will be the time you know yourself once again.

Live authentically.
